Give a shelter pet a holiday break with a ‘Thanksgiving sleepover’

HONOLULU (HawaiiNewsNow) – Oahu SPCA Veterinary Clinic and Animal Shelter is bringing back a popular program for the holiday season and it involves giving a furry friend a sleepover.
This Thanksgiving you have the opportunity to foster a shelter pet on the holiday weekend. The program runs today and tomorrow and is a great way to “test the waters” of fostering a pet.
“The Thanksgiving Sleepover program offers an opportunity for approved fosters to take home a dog or cat in need until a day or two after Thanksgiving. Oahu SPCA will provide everything you need – including food, supplies, and support – so all you need to do is enjoy your time with your temporary furry guest,” said Kristen Hudson, Director of Marketing and Development for the Oahu SPCA.
Here is how the program works:
The program doesn’t just allow potential foster families the opportunity to bring home a special holiday guest, it also provides the staff at the Oahu SPCA some relief as they prepare to spend time with their families during the holidays.
